Hey Paul,

I really enjoyed your article and i even printed it out to remind me to stay on track. I can do almost everything you have there because i know i want to be healthier, leaner and fitter EXCEPT soda...i can add more herbal teas without sugar and have more water and cut out sugary fruit juices completely- but not my coke cola! Coke and a small cadbury chocalate bar is my 'cigarette break'...i guess my question is how much could drinking soda affect my health if i am on track with other aspects of my nutrition?

Hey Khandi
Health + fitness are defintely continuums rather all or nothing. BUT soda will predispose you to osteoporosis in later life, so dilute with as much water as you can ... I will never give up coffee, wine or beer (in moderation) as all these can be beneficial in small amounts. Unfortunately that's not the case for fizzy drinks! Oh and any chocolate for me is at least 70% cocoa! Noel

Lol...i had to go and love something with no nutritional value whatsoever!! I will add more calcium enriched foods to my diet. Thanks for the tip. I cant find anything that rich in chocolate here in Jamaica...the closest is 40%....i've given up the sugary chocolate stuff like snickers and m&m's completely though. Thanks Noel.
